What is new on ViaFrei, what comes next, and the long closures we hold right now — each with its source.
Beside every figure on the home page there is now the question you can ask your AI assistant, and what ViaFrei's tools are answering to it right now: with the tool, the time of the data and every source. A place's cards show the answers for that place too, on warnings, roads, places nearby, charging and parking. It is the same answer your assistant gets when it is connected to ViaFrei.

All 122 motorways now have a page of their own, with a map of the road, its closures, jams and roadworks right now, and the full closures planned for the next seven days with their detours. There are lorry parks with free spaces, chargers by power, road weather and warnings, cameras, the lorry ban and the interchanges as well. The home page shows the ten motorways with the most going on right now.

ViaFrei now reads the own Mobilithek publications of 23 more charge-point operators, among them EWE Go, LichtBlick, Qwello, Wirelane, chargecloud and vaylens. Where an operator reports whether a charge point is free, we show it, but never when the report is older than 30 minutes.

ViaFrei now knows H2 Mobility's hydrogen stations with their car and truck dispensers, the state of the large bridges in Schleswig-Holstein, and the City of Kassel's car parks with their occupancy. On the place pages, every station now says which lifts and escalators are running, which platforms are step-free and which car parks are right next to it. The weather card shows the next hours at the nearest road-weather station, and punctuality is now given for the district.

ViaFrei now reads the traffic messages of the cities of Bremen, Kassel, Leipzig and Rüsselsheim am Main, and the Lower Saxony road authority's works and closures away from the motorways. The cities' messages are also on the place pages, as are Cologne's and Hanover's.

ViaFrei now reads the Autobahn GmbH's traffic messages on closures and delays every five minutes. The messages are placed on their motorway and at their reference points, such as junctions, through the BASt TMC location list.

ViaFrei now knows Munich's car parks and park-and-ride sites. Where a P+R site reports no live occupancy, we give the city's forecast for the current hour, with its date, and never as free spaces.

Live car-park occupancy across Baden-Württemberg now comes from MobiData BW's ParkAPI, every five minutes, from licensed sources only. A reading older than 30 minutes by the publisher's clock is not shown as occupancy.

When an Autobahn closure in Baden-Württemberg matches a published Bedarfsumleitung, ViaFrei names the U-route — as a note on the signage, not as a route recommendation.

For Hamburg's city streets, ViaFrei now lists the released roadworks from the Bauweiser, current or planned, read hourly, and up to two nearby traffic camera locations — locations only, never an image.

ViaFrei now knows current and planned roadworks on Baden-Württemberg's federal and state roads, read every 15 minutes from the state's open mobility data service. Sites the publisher does not release for publication are never shown.

With the weather warnings, ViaFrei now gives the forecast road condition and surface temperature at the nearest road-weather stations — labelled as a model forecast, not a measurement and not an official warning.

We plan to add the detour recommendations of the federal motorway operator: the route the dynamic guide signs recommend during jams and closures. ViaFrei could then name, for a closure, the detour the operator itself recommends.

We plan to add the Federal Office for Logistics and Mobility's data on the managed rest areas on Germany's motorways: location, name and the estimated number of lorry spaces, for all of Germany. That number is the office's estimate, not live occupancy.
